Xiaomi launches HyperOS 3.1 update outside China
* Who gets the update first?
In Europe, the first devices to switch to the new platform version are the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra smartphones. After them, the regional market will receive the Poco Pad and Redmi Pad Pro tablets.
* What changed in HyperOS 3.1?
The platform is based on Android 16 and has received a number of system improvements: optimized kernels, redesigned user interface, smoother operation, and increased device performance.
* New features for tablets
Tablets now have the HyperIsland feature for the first time. In other devices, the component got updated animations and better interaction with third‑party apps. Activity tracking became more intuitive, and the “Recently Opened” section now looks like iOS: gesture navigation, card swipes, and visual controls were improved.
* Super OTA – faster and more reliable
The update system runs faster thanks to the Super OTA feature. Restart times have decreased, and error rates have dropped.
* Apple device support
Connectivity with Apple products has been expanded: native AirPods support now includes a quick pop‑up pairing window and access to spatial audio on compatible models.
